Fender Custom Shop 1952 Telecaster Masterbuilt Hacksaw Relic Todd Krause Super Faded Butterscotch Blonde
Fender Custom Shop 1952 Telecaster Masterbuilt Hacksaw Relic Todd Krause Super Faded Butterscotch Blonde
We've all seen those funky pawn shop finds. Vintage guitars that have been modded to hell and back, with different pickups, changed wiring, a new set of tuners. Every once in a while, there's a diamond in the rough that's a fantastic player. We wanted to see what would happen if we took that concept to the Fender Custom Shop, and they've knocked it out of the park.
This is the first Music Zoo 'Hacksaw Relic" built by our old friend Todd Krause! It's a '52 Telecaster with a Super Faded Aged Butterscotch Blonde finish. The finish has been worn down, with no pickguard except for the tan line of where it would have been, which has also been thoughtfully aged to match the patina of the rest of the body - the pickguard on this one would have been taken off and still gigged for years in smoky bars, hence the lack of a bright tan line.
We gave it an EVH Wolfgang humbucker in the neck and paired it with a handwound Texas Special bridge single-coil. There's also a non-recessed Floyd Rose Original tremolo, because why the hell not? You might call us crazy, but we call this guitar awesome.
